The Gifts Of Imperfection Book Review
Have you ever felt that you aren’t good enough?
If you are someone who feels lost, underappreciate, who feels cornered, who is going through “existential crises” then I have something amazing for you
recently I came across this book called the gifts of imperfection & this is exactly what you need
I can’t explain how much amazing this book is
We strive so hard to get everyone’s approval, to be accepted by a society that we somewhat lose ourselves
We try so hard to be someone who we are supposed to be, that we forget to love who we are
Every one of us at some point in our lives has tried to be someone else because we feel we are not good enough, we are not perfect, we aren’t worthy
We have a big list of our flaws like
- I’m fat
- I’m too skinny
- I’m dark
- I’m too pale
- I’m not earning enough
- I’m not scoring much
- I don’t have a social life
- I’m too geek
- I look like a spoiled brat
- I’m still single
- My biological clock is ticking
There is NO END to this list.
We all have these weird things that we feel are our flaws, our weakness & only when we overcome these we will be accepted
We Often Think That People Will Appreciate Me If
- I become thin
- if I gain some weight
- if I get a stable job
- If I get good marks
- If I get married
- If I become a parent
- If I say yes more often
Again there is NO END to this list as well. We think that if we do this, we will be perfect. People will love & appreciate us
But here is a reality check…that is all BS!
No matter how much you try to be perfect, you are not gonna be perfect because…THERE IS NO PERFECT
The only way you could be happy & enjoy life is not by worrying about someone’s approval, first accept yourself.
Start loving yourself. only when you appreciate & love yourself you can expect it from others.
