Eclipse a natural phenomenon but we have been associating it to a lot more things than we give credit for.

“Eclipse” may it be Lunar or Solar, Full or Partial we find a way to associate it with our lives.

Will it affect our lives?

Will it bring Back luck or is it good luck?

Is it gonna cause Natural Calamities?

And the best question that is being debated on every channel today “Will THe World End???”

Bring in some Astrology, Numerology & what not… Only to let us know how Eclipse which is the most natural event will affect our lives unnaturally.

Before we proceed further a tip

Don’t worry too much about the eclipse, rather than worrying to enjoy the beautiful artwork of nature. This eclipse is the longest eclipse of 21 century. be proud to be part of this & enjoy it rather than fearing it…

now let’s get on to the fun part 😉

We all have experienced these situations in our lives where we treat eclipse as a life-changing phenomenon. With respect to this today I’m presenting you with a list of rituals that our elders have made us follow during every eclipse.

Are they Right or Wrong?  Who Knows! but they are definitely unique & interesting

They are being followed by ages especially me coming from South Indian Family, I have been following these since childhood.

Putting Tulsi (Holy Basil) & Kharaki in every edible item in the home

We have to put Tulsi or Kharki(small grass) in each & every item that we can eat from rice, pulses, chips, water anything that is an edible must & should have tulsi in it or you won’t be allowed to eat it, you have to throw it away.

Not Allowed to Eat or Drink Anything during the Eclipse

As soon as the eclipse starts we were prohibited from eating or drinking anything, not even water :(.  after the eclipse is completed, we have to take a head bath (Shower) only after “Purifying” ourselves we can have anything.

Not Allowed Use Restroom

Yes, you read right, not allowed to use the washroom during the eclipse.

Not Allowed to Go Outside

Once the eclipse starts we were confined to 4 walls, well it was not an issue for lunar eclipse but during the solar eclipse, many times schools were given holiday.

Rituals for Pregnant Women

They have to follow all these rituals on top of that they have some more too…Like they shouldn’t move much during the eclipse, they have to pray during that period & all the curtains, drapes of their room should be completely shut so that not a single ray of light could enter their room.
