This home remedy is a part of a custom that we have been following every year on Makar Sankranti, also known as Sankramana, Pongal, Uttarayan
I feel stupid 😳 because I’m sharing it now rather than on actual Makar Sankranti but as people say you often take things for granted which are easily available to you
I have been using this for years but somehow it didn’t click to me to share it before.
Only when we were celebrating Makar Sankranti I felt like I got to share this with you.
So here I’m Sharing with you a home remedy, a ritual that has been part of our lives for years.

This Scrub is not only effective for skincare but it is also believed to cleanse our aura, it removes all bad omen.

Black Sesame Seed also called Ellu or Til – Everyone knows that we celebrate Makar Sankranti by eating Til Gudh ke laddu, but not many are aware that not only we eat Sesame on Makar Sankranti, but we also use it for our body.
Black Sesame Seeds are great for your health. The oil in Sesame seeds helps to nourish your skin. Sesame is rich in powerful antioxidants and possesses antibacterial and antiviral properties. It offers several benefits to your skin

How to Prepare this simple scrub for glowing glass skin
Take a mixy jar, add turmeric & black sesame seeds to it. The quantity depends upon you but makes sure to balance the ratio 1:2. i.e If you are taking 1 spoon of turmeric make sure to take 2 spoons of sesame seeds & grind it in a mixer grinder. It doesn’t have to be a fine paste let it be a bit coarse. There you have your amazing homemade scrub ready

How To Use This Homemade Scrub For Your Skin
You shouldn’t apply this scrub on dry skin, wet the area on which you want to apply this scrub. Honestly, it is a full-body scrub. You can apply it to your face, neck, back, knees, legs, hands, etc. Just wet the area a bit before applying this scrub
I would recommend you to do this while taking a bath
Once the area is wet, take a small amount of this scrub & apply it & gently massage it
As our scrub is in a dry powder form, it is important that the skin is wet so that it works fine. Just gently massage with this scrub for 2-3 minutes & then you can wash it off.
Just once or twice a week is enough. As there is oil in sesame seeds It will nourish your skin, it acts as moisturizer & turmeric will help to remove dead skin, impurities & will give your skin a glow

2 years ago my sister had twin boys & my Badi Dadi (SIL of my Dadi) from the village came to live with us, to help take care of the babies. We had Makar Sankranti around that time & that is when she told me about this.
They have been applying this home remedy on their skin & hair for all this long & for the last 2 years, I have been doing this as well. In fact, she asked me to apply this on my hair & just wash it off with water & not use shampoo but I do use shampoo 😳
