Asur Web Series Review – A Web Series You Can’t-Miss
Asur Web Series season 2 is here & the hype is real.
People are going crazy over the web series so I decided to it a try & here is my honest review.
Well, Asur Season 1 was released around 3 years ago, I remember seeing the trailer but I didn’t watch the show.
I thought it was just another web series talking about religion & cult culture…but man was I wrong.
When the season 2 trailer came out, I saw it & I also saw how excited people were for the show. So I went back & saw Asur Season 1 trailer & read the comments & people were all praising the show.
Calling it the masterpiece, the best web series of India, better than Hollywood movies, etc. So, it got me curious.
I had around an hour to spare & I thought I will just watch one episode & I started watching Asur Season 1 on Wednesday (as my readers know, I only watch shows & movies on Sunday. so this was unusual)
I just thought I will watch one episode. If I liked It I will watch the rest on Sunday but the series got me hooked.
I ended up watching all 8 episodes of Asur Season 1 on Wednesday itself. I was awake until 3 am watching the show & I don’t regret a thing.
The show is absolutely worth skipping sleep & I knew the season 2 was out but as they were just uploading one episode a day, I decided I will wait for the episodes to be up because I know it’ll be a pain waiting for the episodes.
And then people ended up leaking the episodes & distributing them on Twitter & telegram which pushed JioCinema to upload all episodes at once.
So, Just yesterday I finished watching the entire series & I’m blown away by it.
Usually, our Web Series (most web series, not all) include swearing, nudity, etc but this was a completely new package.
An unusual dark & raw theme…the story was splendid & the full crew did complete justice to the story.
The cast, direction, dialogue, screenplay, music, clothing everything was perfect.
The thing I loved the most about this web series was…
it was real & relatable.
They didn’t dramatize it much with overdramatic emotions, and dialogues & trust me there was a huge chance for them to do it.
every character on the show has gone through pretty traumatic experiences, there were pretty complicated situations where they could have easily turned it into a melody drama so, I’m really happy they didn’t do it.
The suffering, the pain, the situation everything felt real & relatable.
Another thing I loved about the web series was – they didn’t focus completely on the love angle.
Yes! Nikhil’s love life was involved in the show..but only to a point where it was necessary.
No unwanted over-the-top spotlight on his love life nor they tried to sell the love triangle…I really loved this aspect of the show a lot.
The mystery – the story of the show is the true hero…out of all these – romance, saas-bahu, adultery nonsense content we usually get. this is like a breath of fresh air.
As I saw both the series at once. it is hard for me to go into detail here without giving away the spoilers which I so don’t want to do.
Because really this web series is worth watching, without knowing what the hell will happen next because it is a treat.
Also, the Actors did a commendable job, no matter how big or small a role was…they truly did a great job…
I personally loved Young Shubh, Anant & Rassol acting so much…it was like they were truly living the character.
No for a second, you’ll find an emotion that doesn’t match the character.
I love the Anant character in the show…the child is awesome.
In fact, everyone did a splendid job.
If you are something who loves watching quality content & haven’t watched the show yet…what the hell are you waiting for?
You just can’t miss this show…Go ahead & watch the show asap
PS: Being a software engineer. it was hard for me not to notice the goof-up they did with the codes. I just wished they tried harder for it. But you know what….when you create a masterpiece like this one. nothing else matters.
I highly recommend everyone to go ahead & watch it. This is one of the best web series that you should definitely watch
