Singham Again Honest Review
As promised I just finished watching Singham Again and here is my review
First and foremost, it wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be after reading all the reviews.
Although I felt there was no need to link the story to the Ramayana, I must say they executed the Ramayana better than Adipurush.
The way they have linked every character and scenario to Ramanayan…it is quite clever and creative…a modern depiction of Ramayan. this is what Adipurush was supposed to do but nevertheless…this was done right
In this review I’ll move along the story…initially, the story started with the usual police work and then they focused on the family drama…that was ok and I must say Ajay and Kareena pulled off the parent’s roles quite well.
But here comes Deepika…her entry.
Honestly speaking before the trailer I was very excited to see Deepika as a Cop…I thought it would be a dream role..seeing her as a badass cop.
But TBH I didn’t like it at all…Yes, the movie’s name is Singham and yes you need to show her as a lady Singham…but does it really have to be?
She was trying to be the exact copy of Singham – from style, and action to dialogue delivery and that accent man…it was a letdown.
They didn’t execute it well at all.
If they had introduced her as a badass cop who has her own character, style statement and ideologizes Singham it still would have been better…In fact that would have been an impactful role..
If they had executed well Shakti Shetty could have been a great edition to Rohit Shett’s Cop universe…but here she felt more like Lady Simba(dialogue style) then lady Singham.
Of course, she was amazing in the emotional scenes even in action scenes but the way her character was designed was a little disappointing.
I can’t believe I’m going to say this…but I was very much surprised by Arjun Kapoor.
His entry, expressions, background score, everything was blended perfectly together creating an ideal image of a devil.
Maybe this is a time when Arjun should realize that he should take on more characters like badass, powerful, fierce, villain, and warrior-like roles…these suit him the best.
The guy next door, man in love, cool innocent good guy aren’t the roles for him.
Tiger did what he does great.. i.e. action and yes, it was a treat to see him in the action mode.
I must say the screenplay, CGI is awesome as is the action…it is as usual solid, and what I really liked what it that the woman wasn’t depicted as an ablanari.
and background score is amazing….unlike Bhool Bhulaiyaa the background score here is top notch..and it fits perfectly well with the story.
The true surprise for me was Ranveer Singh, his character and comic timing were the major highlights of the movie.
It’s that one element that would keep the audience hooked.
And Akshay…Man his entry was awesome and I must say I really enjoy the trio Akshay – Ajay – Simba….( I would love to see them together in a rom-com)
Overall the movie is definitely worth watching…It might not be a masterpiece or even remotely close to the high-quality entertainer movies of Rohit Shetty.
But is pretty good. based on all the reviews I read and heard online I was looking forward to a boring and overall dramatic movie..but I was pleasantly surprised.
It was definitely a good movie to add to your watchlist. I really enjoyed it…might not be going for a re-run but for one one-time watch..go for it.
Singham Again and Bhoo Bhulaiyaa 3
If you are confused between Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which one should you watch? then I would highly recommend Singham Again. In between these 2 Singham takes the lead.
For me Singham Again was far more entertaining and bearable then Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
