How To Make Kadha For Cold & Cough at Home – Winter Recipes
Winter is here & cold & cough are like an uninvited guest that visits you every winter
And today I’m sharing a solution for it
A super simple yet highly effective kadha recipe that will give you instant relief from cold, cough
If you have a runny nose or stuffy nose, going on sneezes or cough do try this out
This is my Grandma’s special relief & unlike other kadha’s this one is super tasty as well
Almost all the ingredients are always present in every household, so try this out & let me know
Kadha Recipe for Cold & Cough – Home Remedies for Cold & Cough
Kadha Ingredients
Coriander Seeds
Black Pepper
Ginger
Cloves
Jaggery
Water
How To Make Ayurvedic Kadha At Home – Instant Relief from Sore Throat
To Make this Kadha, take a saucepan add about 2 glasses of water then add 1 tbsp of coriander powder to it.
Please refrain from using store-bought coriander powder, because those coriander powders are mainly made for taste & color, not focusing on coriander seeds health properties
So for this kadha, take coriander seeds either crush them using a Khal Batta/Silbatta or just grind using a grinder to make coriander powder
Almost all the ingredients used in this kadha should be fresh, so just make sure you use the correct ingredients
Then add 1 tsp of freshly crushed black pepper & almost an inch of freshly grated ginger,3-5 cloves
mix all the ingredients, once you see a small change in the color add a small piece of jaggery to it or 1 tbsp of jaggery powder.
If you used organic jagger then it will be amazing for your health
If you want to know which jaggery is better, know that the dark color jaggery is believed to be more organic
anyway, add this jaggery to the kadha & stir well so that jaggery doesn’t stick to the pan & burn then let it come to boil
Tip:
There is no alternative to Jaggery here, don’t use sugar, brown sugar, or even honey.
Here we are not using jaggery just for taste but for its health benefits as well…Jaggery works amazingly to provide heat to your body & to soothe your throat
When the kadha starts to boil & you get the beautiful aroma from the kadha, turn off the flame & strain it
When to Have to get relief from Cold & Cough
Have this kadha when it is hot, just like your tea or coffee
You can have this at any time, preferably in the evening or before the best dinner
Important Tip – Don’t Do This
Don’t have this kadha on empty stomach, as it is quite strong & the purpose of it is to provide relief from cold, if you have it on empty stomach some people might gte acidity
Ayurvedic Kadha for Kids
If you are making this kadha for kids, don’t add cloves & you can decrease the quantity of black pepper
